Is the 320 also made in China?

Also, lovely flooring. Can you tell me a little about it?

Yes the 320 is made in China as well.

Flooring is engineered hardwood from the previous owners. Seems really durable and easy to clean so far

I rewatched The Fugitive the other day. The Kimble house is very nicely done. How would you describe the architecture and design? Bauhaus? 90s Bauhaus?

First post of the new year, most likely one of many with how much we have to do in school.

We started off the year with a quick 2 day upholstery workshop, together with students from another design school in Stockholm. Ten old wooden chairs were distributed among groups of 3, with a plethora of foam, fabrics and leather provided by Kvadrat and Elmo Leather. Our task then was to alter the chairs however we wanted to improve both comfort and aestethics, bringing new life to old pieces.

Our group decided to stay relatively close to the original design (compared to other groups anyway), while still putting our spin on it. We took the whole thing apart, sanded it down, rounded all edges, shortened the backrest, removed the wooden seat and then covered everything except the legs in foam and fabrics, as we figured those are the parts you touch the least while using a chair.

The finish is kind of janky and there are things we could have done more efficiently, but we were still very happy with the end result and the improved comfort/aestethics compared to the original.

And then for something less janky, I took some better pictures of my other most recent chair and I'm very happy with how they turned out, so I obviously have to share those here too.

The next 1-2 weeks we finally have our intro course for the metal workshop, so if things turn out well my plan is to create another chair that is related to the one above, but this time in aluminium.

Where have any of you shopped for outdoor path lighting? Currently I am using a circular solar powered set from Target's Threshold brand. I live in a old 1930s rowhome so I keep the exterior pretty much in line with the rest of the block.

wtf do you do with a large bedroom that also has a large walk in closet?

We moved the baby stuff out of our room, but now it is just a big empty space.

Don’t really need big his & hers dressers as the closet has lots of space and built in drawers.

I don’t do TVs in bedrooms.

I roll my eyes every time I see a photo of a big master bedroom sitting area with a couch and 2 chairs…I’m never going to have 5 people lounging in my bedroom.

Desks aren’t really on offer as both of us have separate offices. Don’t want exercise equipment or anything like that in there.

Maybe I just need to increase the visual scale of all the remaining furniture and then do a bunch of large plants. I don’t need to fill space for space’s sake, but the remaining furniture (bed, chair, 2 nightstands, and a not entirely necessary dresser) feels dwarfed by the space.

Have you considered floating the bed in the middle of the room? Put in a wall or built-in to anchor it...

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
