I think this will resolve the question. A well-known tailor took apart an Attolini garment, and the results are somewhat surprising:


Starts at post 10,285.

Highlights:

Flipped the facing to the other side to expose the canvass and the anatomy of the jacket. Completely padded by machine canvas and domette.

Additionally dissappointed to see the lapels padded by machine
