Idiot streamer decides to speed in the middle of a storm while texting and crashes his $200k McLaren.

He streamed everything. Good luck getting an insurance payout.

Took my EQB in for “service” today which consisted of a software update, tire tread depth check, blinker fluid refill and the all important clearing of the nagging service indicator.

I think this was the first time I ever took a loaner and they gave me an EQE SUV. I guess it’s theoretically two classes above the EQB. It was definitely more premium but it felt relatively slow and ponderous considering it is barely any larger than the EQB. I can’t imagine who is forking out $90k for these things, which I guess is why I never see them on the road. The GLE makes sense to me but this was way smaller and just isn’t a compelling offering. I guess I would take it for the bigger range because I could get to Tahoe in one shot but I wouldn’t pay anywhere close to the premium it would require. I bet they have some sweet lease deals and these will be available for a song off lease in a few years.

The last few pages have killed whatever nascent interest I might have had in a Porsche.

I tried to take my Porsche out last week to work. I soon as I started pulling out of my driveway I got a low coolant warning. I thought no big deal I'll drive it to the dealership and get it topped off. Like 20 ft down the street, it goes from low coolant warning to turn off engine immediately. No coolant.

Happened to me too. I put some coolant in because it was getting hot and tried to drive it to a shop. Completely died and AAA towed it. They said the hoses busted.

And I thought Porsche made good cars...
Just relish the fact that depreciation is virtually zero in the last few years. You very likely got to own and enjoy it for nothing.

And when you decide to move it along, there will be dozens of 50+ y/o guys offering you a meatup at the Waffle Housejust to make you an offer above ask.

I typed that half joking but a quick search shows only a handful for sale at Porsche dealers nationwide including this 2021 PDK Cayman GTS that stickered for $102,600 and is listed for $101,998 (with THREE owners)!!! This 2022 Manuel is listed at $8K more than sticker (also three owners).

This is why I do a complete coolant change every 5k miles or 6 months whichever comes first.

But do you send a coolant sample to the lab for analysis?

That just means its time to trade it in for a new Porsche. All kidding aside, I've had mine for a little over 10 years, and with the exception of overpriced maintenance, that car has been bullet proof.

I think I probably have a coolant leak. Maybe a rock damaged a radiator or something since I had my car serviced back in June.

When I called the service department to get some coolant they told me $50 for a gallon. I went to go buy it and they just gave it to me for free so saved me some money. I just haven't had the time this week to actually do the maintenance.

Only if the change was done on a Monday or Tuesday. Otherwise shipping delays could cause the sample to sit over the weekend and you know what that does to the results.

You ship it? I have my wife fly it the lab and hand deliver.

Also when I was getting the coolant from Porsche, my GF and I test drove the Macan T. She really likes the Macan but hates the back seats. I'm like "when are you ever going to sit in it"?

We then sat in the Cayenne which she likes the seats and interior more because there's more space but hates the way the dash is laid out.
