Very very nice, congrats. Can you share details about the sole and welt; I prefer robust welts due to my proneness to kick stairs and sidewalks. My feet think that welts are bumpers.

Regards
Sure, these are double Victory sole, with 360 storm welt and soft fudging if I recall correctly. The 360 storm welt should pretty much give you the bumper effect you are going for.

I've always like the shape, in theory, of the Rain last:
But in person, the closed lacing and toe shape just don't work well together for my wider forefoot, unfortunately. It's the wider lasts for me.

Thought of asking for black hatch but got tankers in col.8 hatch instead, wasn't too interested in black.
Fair. I’m not usually interested in black boots either, but those black work boots look like high end combat boots. And the “high end version of quotidian things” Is something in which I’m nearly always interested.

Experts, I have a bit of detective work to ask of you!

I bought a secondary market pair of boots and based on the style on the box, I thought they were Soller last. I had to sell them because they were a half size small.

I went into Carmina today, and the fellow told me that it was a custom order on different last! Note the more squared toe. But he couldn't say for sure which one.

Looking at the photos, what's your best guess? I have a suspicion, but I'd like to hear your opinion before I MTO them.
Thank you!

My first pair from the custom weekend event already arrived today, just a simple PTB in hummus suede (janus calf).

Oscar last fits me amazingly well, very glad it does because I also have a shell boot on Oscar last coming.

One complaint is that I did ask for a storm welt, they forgot that, would have rather gotten a 270 degree welt if its not for the storm welt.
Also is it common for Carmina to not notify you when they ship a finished pair to you? This is the second time that happened.
Otherwise I'm very happy with Carmina so far.
