Diglett! Balligators would not be so awesome on forest.

Dress boot + sleek last = yes
I will admit that I've been enjoying the hell out of them. I still think Forest is great, but Rain is undeniably sleeker, and really just killer on a boot.

Love those! From Leatherfoot or direct from Carmina?

I prefer Rain last, 5 eyelets. Sucks to MTO one with the 50% fee.

@Leaves

Can you give me more details about last, sole, etc on the split toe derby and CXL boot? Or best to email the shop?

I misplaced my order sheets somewhere, I'll post details as soon as I find them.

Agreed. Love the split toe. Is Carmina's polo suede similar to G&G's?

Yes, quite so. It's Steed suede.

Check out this new boot design from Carmina. I'd totally be down for this baby in the robert last. Pics are courtesy of theshoesnobog.com

Yes, that's a nice style, and one we will be stocking this coming fall. It's made specifically on Rain, because I was pushing them to do a Rain lasted boot. Factory visit and fall order to be placed in March. If you have any suggestions feel free to PM me.

That split toe derby... I am going to do a navy shell version or a navy shell tanker boots with those heavily stitched apron & split toe.

SOS!

Hi guys, complete Carmina noob here. Any idea where I can find a pair of Carmina chelsea boots in brown calf or suede (possibly open to any shade of brown)? The usual suspects that came up from a search--Skoaktiebolaget, Armoury, etc.--only carry them in black calf. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Cross post for maximum traction... Got a craving for green.... Anyone interested in reviving the two boots below as Carmina GMTOs? (ordered through gentlemensfootwear)

Is anyone interested in a Loden Green Suede String Loafer GMTO on the short vamp Uetam last? If you look at the comparison I think everyone would agree that a lower vamp on the Uetam (particularly in sizes above UK8) looks more elegant. The comparison is just a photo I edited, but I believe it is very close to actual. *Original on left.

I'm looking to buy my first pair of Carminas. I'm in need of a very formal shoe to wear with a suit to evening functions like date night, the occasional ceremony/glad-handing, black tie event, or really any formal function. However, I really don't wear black shoes at any other time and would ideally like to get something that could be pretty versatile. In addition, I have a new infatuation for navy shell cordovan. If these navy wholecuts were cleaned up and polished before any formal events, would they look dark enough to pass for a black shoe?

Edit: Here's a pic I mercilessly stole from @RogerP

Tax and duties for my black calf wholecuts came to $120 :(

18% duty for shoes + GST (sales tax)

That's how we have our "free" healthcare here in Canada!

At least it's going to our dear government, and not FedEx, DHL....

TNT once charged me $240 worth of 'stuff' on a $400 coat. I almost cried :)

Yes, mostly. You could also apply one coat of black polish to the navy shell.

I'm going to go for a black wholecut and replace my black DM with something like Vass's Oxblood calf DM.
