Someone more experienced may have better advice, but I think you are stuck with the return. I would take them back, then escalate with ebay once you get them back: that you received the item back in different condition than you had sent.
Thanks

Quick question.
Received messages from a buyer this morning (on a new pair of G&G boots) which were pristine, never worn and in original box.

The shoes received were worn and do not match the description, and the seller does not acknowledge it

1. He had obviously worn them outdoors, as the soles were scuffed
2. Then claims the box was not original

I suspect he did not like them and was either a/ looking for a discount our b/ looking to return.
Is there any way to challenge the negative feedback, or just take it on the chin?

You’re the seller? I’m assuming the buyer didn’t submit any photos as vs proof. Ask him to send pics of the box received and the shoes as he received them.

This is a very common scam from buyers looking for an easy discount from sellers who don’t want to deal with it. Fight back.

I had a buyer do something similar recently, and he never responded to that message asking for pics. He also hasn’t opened a return.

I'm not surprised, getting real help has been increasingly difficult...get AI chat box or outsourced help mostly recently. They also mentioned changes of responsibilities and stuff being moved to different "areas", so they've probably been shuffling for a while to free up resources.

i'm assuming most of the inquiries we're talking about here have to do with like conflict resolution ? if not what are some other issues that would require staff to intervene

Besides conflict resolution, tech issues such as unable to process refunds, unable to change addresses, other "site problems".

Recently a supervisor took my (seller's side) on a claim, says in writing she would refund the buyer but I the seller won't be negatively affected at all. Later on get a message saying the buyer filed a dispute with his CC claiming he never got a refund. This never ends lol

Hardly anything will be found to be ‘in violation of listing policy’ since AI makes the decisions on reported items.
So do we just sit back and and get drowned out in false listings or join in the bs to get seen and help mess up the search more than it is already?

Question for folks here that have more eBay experience than I do: I bought a sport coat that was listed as a size 42. What I received is a 42L. I had interpreted ‘42’ as a ‘42R’

Would you all consider that mis-labeled? Or would you consider that my bad for not asking if it was a 42r, 42s, or 42l?

Also- let me know if any of you all are looking for a nice suit supply navy blazer in 42l.

Thanks for any thoughts you all might have.

Is this the listing? https://www.ebay.com/itm/256384743220?hash=item3bb1b8b734:g:FJAAAOSwJfplrWOm

I wouldn't call it mislabeled. Poor listing effort, absolutely. I, personally, would never buy anything for myself with the details, or lack thereof, provided here.

Thank you and I appreciate the perspective! And yes, that’s the listing.
I don't think this is mislabeled. You took a gamble on a poorly constructed listing. It does not state the length anywhere in the listing, nor does it show the label, so they never misrepresented the length. You purchased without ensuring you had all the information that you required, so the error is on you.
