As long as you aren't crunched for time, I would be inclined to save a little more and go with Chan.

I could do you an MTM 3 piece at 2k and I do have the virtue of actually being British. You would have to come to NYC though.

Wow, your stuff looks really good. MTM is fully canvassed, right? I am going to hold off a bit in case my body shape changes due to exercise. I saw you did a Gilt deal though - I wish I got in on that! If I may ask, do you have any plans for another?

Thank you Marble, yes it's fully canvassed.

I would never do another gilt deal. I actually don't even advertise MTM anymore, but I can do it and will do it, if I want to work with the client. At that price point I can take it or leave it these days.
God bless the American dream :)

Raymond Tailor on Federal Street might be worth considering. The owner is Cockney as you're going to get and was trained on Saville Row. He does offer OTR, MTM, as well as bespoke.

Raymond Tailoring in Boston right near South Station does English bespoke. He has plenty of examples of his work on hand in the shop since he does it all himself. It's outside your budget, though. $1500 is going to be tough to work with.

Rizzo in Harvard is talented for sure, but British style he is not the one to go to. He's old world Italian, which is also amazing.

Another recommendation for David Reeves. There is also Leonard Logsdail (whose house style, lake David Reeves' house style, is similar to H. Huntsman's house style, which Richard Anderson, Limited is now more famous for than H. Huntsman themselves), Alan Flusser, Franco Ercole and Cheo (all of whom have a house style similar to Anderson & Sheppard, which is sort of hinted at on Ercole's and Cheo's websites; Flusser indicates his house style himself in fashion and style magazine interviews).

Thomas Mitchell in Huntington can do any style, but (as indicated on his website) mostly does English (the A&S like, H. Huntsman/RA Ltd. like and Maurice Sedwell like house styles are an equal amount of TM's production and sales, which is hinted on his website). A bit OT, but Maurice Sedwell's house style (as indicated on their website) is basically the 1/2 way point of A&S's and H. Huntsman/RA Ltd.'s house styles. All three of these Savile Row tailors have an English house style, just very different versions of it.

Visible Pick Stitching on Lapels and Pockets

  • It’s a mark of quality and craftsmanship

  • I like it when it’s subtle

  • I don’t like visible stitching

  • Doesn’t matter to me
