I'd go to your trusted cobbler and see whether he could assist you, or if not, I'd go back to the manufacturer.
I have no trusted cobbler anymore (and never did locally) and the manufacturer is unknown but likely closed shop 40+ years ago

Then you are going to have to find a new cobbler or bring it to a leather store that might be able to advise you on who to seek repairs from.

I guess my thought here was to get a recommendation from here that wasn't simply to go get a recommendation lol

My apologies for coming off glib, but this is exactly the type of thing you need to go in person to as these are the sort of things that need to be seen, and most "just send us this stuff!" is probably not that great - or far more expensive. It is not that there are tons of these services all around, either.

That being said, if you wouldn't mind sending your bag to Florence, Floto can probably help you.
