Thanks for the discount code, wished I have made my purchase later instead of earlier.
That said, just receive my flapover case last week and here's the obligatory shot of the briefcase:

Nice match! Would love to see more photos, if you got any, of the briefcase in proportion to the figure/shoulder ..

I will be ordering a Folio briefcase for a start just to feel the taste of the work/leather quality .. His style and work appears to be really good with competitive prices considering he's using bridle leather + SF discount + weak pound it should be no brainer ..

Yes any pictures of proportion would be helpful. The measurements on their website may be wrong as whenever I convert the cm to inches it would mean all their satchels and briefcases are the size of a small purse.

The flapover brief looks to be listed at about the right size, and so does the portfolio.

Around the 15/16" x 11" range, yes?

38cm is 15", thats usually a good reference when looking at cases to quickly convert to imperial your head.

you're right. i'm looking at the satchel which is at 25cm tall, so about 10 inches.

A couple more juicy progress shots for you. Stitching the handle on. Finished Finishing the Edges of the flap. Waxing after sanding and dying. Then polishing and moving on! The final product.
What will the finished item be? The leather looks fantastic. What kind is it.

A single gusseted briefcase, with a flap closure and lock.

Good eye! This is a vegetable tanned leather from Conceria Walpier in Italy. It is fantastic, and currently my favorite leather to use. It really works well in cases and small leather goods.

Also, the colors that Walpier can produce are amazing, even the greys and pastels are very natural looking.

I'm a detail guy, and I notice too much sometimes, but I'm going to speak up here because I think it's important to note that there are some design/craftsmanship oversights that will probably affect the longevity of this bag.

  • Loose stitching on the cardholder (what would be the top right corner, if it were upright.)
  • Zipper installation is not okay - it looks as if the panel was mis-cut and they folded it at the end of the zipper to accommodate the slack. Or they're using the zipper as structure. Literally never seen this before. Nonetheless, the stress on the leather and zipper are not ideal.
  • Two weird metal clips that will most assuredly fall off at the top of the gussets. Hopefully they're just decorative.

Also, Vachetta leather in a loose definition is typically vegetable tanned leather that has not been finished in any way. This looks to be pretty well oiled/fattened/colored.

I'd have second guesses about this brand. Don't get me wrong, I'm biased - but hear me out, I think a good, mass-manufactured bag from a decent brand is going to look better, and last much longer than this one at a price point that's possibly lower.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
