Bourbon for scotch drinkers is how I would describe it.

Its interesting, but as you said, bourbon drinkers will likely find it lacking. Very floral and light, might appeal to Basil fans (misguided as you are...

Nah, much better than Bulliet. Bulliet is dominated by the taste of cheap alcohol, Corner Creek is integrated very well. I would think that CC is worth trying at a bar, but not worth buying unless you want a bourbon that is a real departure from what you are apt to drink.

Anyone ever tried "Old Rip Van Winkle"? I believe that they sell a 10 and a 20 year. Both are excellent.

The 10 is Old Rip Van Winkle, the 20 is Pappy Van Winkle. There are a few others: a higher proof 10, a 12, a 15, a 23 and a rye. They are all excellent. Can't go wrong with any of those choices.

True, the challenge is usually finding them.

Just remember, the SF discount is a discount, not an upcharge.

Just picked up Pappy Van Winkle Rye for the first time yesterday. I am very impressed with the balance-- both spicy and a little sweet. Too bad there was only one bottle left, as I think I'll be going through this one quick. (They also have one btl of PVW 20-- I may have to upgrade next if it's still there.)

I wouldn't say Stagg is great. I like it. It's hard to compare because it's 140+ proof. I don't capture alot of flavor when I drink it
