I count the ER10 as an exception to the hoarding “rules.” At MSRP it’s simply a lovely bottle and I move through them fairly quickly… but, you never know when they’ll disappear from shelves and I simply cannot go without. 🤷‍♂️
Yeah thankfully all my bottles have been MSRP scores, almost exclusively at the Annapolis NEX before their ability to get anything decent from Frankfort disappeared entirely.

(yes, they still have Traveler and 1792 small batch but those are both crap lol)

Bought this more for the novelty and shelf displaying opportunities than anything.
It's actually relatively tasty despite being 80 proof, and I usually have a rule nothing below 43%.

Need to grab a nice bottle for a friends 40th that is not tough to source...was thinking something in the $200-300

Has anyone had the premium Barrell options? Another thought is to grab a Bookers and nice Glenmorangie to cover multiple bases...

Knob Creek 18 should be ~$180

Bookers (maybe Little Book?) would be good, but make sure they like/can handle high proof- you can’t just hand 60%+ to a person who doesn’t drink it normally.

Having a pretty rad session. Wife and kids out of town. You know how it goes 😅 Found four random 3oz apothecary style bottles in the back of my cabinet. They were from a buddy who always manages to get his hands on the epic allocated stuff… Birthday, ER17, GTS etc. He’s more of a wheated guy, so also occasionally gets a PVW, but mostly the other better Weller’s. I usually score my nicer bottles from him. Anywho… enjoying spinning some vinyl and trying to guess what the hell I’m drinking. It’s all been high proof and not wheated, so thinking a mix of BDay, some other OF SB and one which I can’t be sure but seems GTS, which is what we had last time about a year ago before a Padre’s game getting loose en route to the park.

Back to the salt mines mañana, so shutting it down early.. popped by another buddy’s bar on my way home from work for a pint and a High West Bourbon and Rye smoked (delicious, but too much smoke flavor after half-way) Old Fashioned to watch the game a bit too… Was fun while it lasted.

New here to the wonderful world of bourbon, I've only tried Woodford Reserve and the Double Oaked version, which is my favorite, but want to begin expanding my horizons. I mainly drink Old Fashion, what is the recommended go to Bourbon for OF?
