Black suit for wedding question

Here is my dilemma, I am looking to purchase a fully canvassed black suit that is appropriate for my (Vegas) wedding but also something that I can wear to work or going out. As I am a 34 regular it is somewhat difficult to find my size. I also don't want the banker/accountant look. I also don't want anything super trendy. I like something that is form fitting, as much as a suit can be, yet isn't skinny/trendy.

I have three options for this. Well, actually I have more than three but my favorites at the moment would be either the O'Conner fit or Windsor fit from Tom Ford or a new without tags Dior SS14 on ebay linked here.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-Great-...7080715?_trksid=p2141725.m3641.l6368#rpdCntId

My dilemma is as follows:

1.) I love Tom Ford design and really want to pull the trigger on one of his suits. $4000+ is just a lot of money and I guess saying to myself I'll buy one one day is different than I'll buy it this weekend. It isn't like it will be going on the credit card or anything but it is still a lot of money. It is also more than her dress cost, by a multiple of 4.

2.) I am apprehensive of purchasing a suit online as I know this is the article of clothing you want to fit best. I also am afraid of being scammed with a Chinese knockoff. While I have done some research on Dior fakes, and this one looks real, I am still concerned.

Is there anyone that can steer me in the right direction here? Is it worth the extra $$$ for Tom Ford, or should I go Dior and hope it fits or worst case I have to ship it back to France. Quality/fit differences that are important? Like I said I don't want skin tight, but I also want a trim fit. I did try on an O'Conner jacket and it fit well as did the Windsor. I also tried a 16SS Dior and it fit well too. Thoughts?

So, Tom Ford and Dior Homme are perhaps diametrically opposite. One is dramatic and has a 70s feel, the latter is slim and minimalist. Both are slightly theatrical.

For $4K, you can get a bespoke suit, but I do understand the look and feel of Tom Ford as being rather special, and would not dissuade you from it. Although it's much maligned, buying a favorite brand definitely has an intangible appeal.

I would very much advise you, as a relatively inexperienced buyer of the suits, to not get a suit from Paris. There are a million things that could fit incorrectly. And cuts do change from season to season. Not to mention that there are different models of suits in a line.

Of the two choices presented, I would go with the Tom Ford.

Good luck.

Cheers,

Fok.
