Three full baths in San Francisco ... congratulations. I live in the area. Step aside George Jefferson, this man is "movin' on up...."

Miele dishwashers kick @$$.

I have a Viking dual fuel range. The oven is quite good. It does take a while to settle in at the correct temp, but once it does it stays there reliably.

One thing to think about if you broil a lot: gas broilers are significantly better than electric. The electric on convection broil is OK -- good enough -- but inferior to gas.

Especially b/c there was a recent recall on them. My daughter is crestfallen... and I have to admit I was a bit bummed myself.

We had a Viking oven and range in our last home. Wonderful.

Now we have a GE profile, installed by the folks who lived there before us and renovated the kitchen.

Same here. It comes to temperature in like, 5 minutes and is quite stable.

Correct. For ovens, electric is preferred as you are able to maintain a constant temperature. For ranges, its gas all the way.

I recently remodeled my kitchen and went with Dacor gas range, electric convection oven and their microwave convection oven which is a really slick unit. I went with Miele for dishwasher, Franke sink/disposer and Subzero 736TCI.

I'm surprised Ivan Kipling hasn't put in any suggestions yet, he seems to be quite the baker and cook!
