Sorry guys. I say shave it. IMO, accepting the duties of being a best man means that you're willing to do that kinda thing.

Accepting? Who says no to that sort of thing?

This wedding - the gift, the tuxedo, the bachelor party - has left me broke. The least I can do is save my dignity, leave the beard, and look and feel confident.

Well you must at least feel some kind of a need to abide by her request, otherwise you wouldn't have made the thread.

I get not looking like a hobo. But if you wear a beard, and it is well kept, then I do not see the problem. Would you let her dictate your haricut too?

I must say +1 to this. It is their day, not yours. Some beards looks very good on men. Most, however, do not. And nobody wants a hipster on stage at their wedding.

Do not shave it. If a man with a beard is asked to be Best Man then a man with a beard is going to show up. This "their day" business has to stop somewhere

Quick painless solution: if you want to be a good friend to your buddy the groom, you'll shave it just to save him the headache of having to hear about your facial hair from his fiance from now until the wedding. She clearly feels pretty strongly about it to have mentioned it already, so he's bound to get an earful from her. That said, post a picture of what the beard looks like. like this?:

or like this:

Maybe trim is up nice the way you would and hang out with them and see if it's acceptable. Beards can look fine:

I bet she shaves

Shave it off. Prove you're a man some other way.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
