Best Lightweight Cashmere Sweater Recommendation

Good afternoon,
I’m interested to hear advice for the best lightweight cashmere sweater brand. Standard colors: gray, navy, camel in a v-neck jumper or cardigan. I live in the south San Francisco Bay Area, so the climate is rather different than the city (SF). It’s a bit warmer.

I own Loro Piana baby cashmere and Ralph Lauren Purple Label pieces. They’re great, no doubt, but a bit pricey. Is there a lesser known brand for those in the know?
Thanks

I'd recommend Malo as another brand to look at. Yoox often has discounted Malo sweaters.

if you want the ultimate lightweight cashmere sweater, try to get a 14 micron from Fedeli, bar none the lightest one on the market, I've just not seen them very often, but can send you a pic of mine compared with all the other brands

personally, Loro Piana isn't my thing, way too overpriced for the quality, and the baggy fit doesn't match my EU physique ;)
Cucinelli as some HQ fine knitted ones, which I prefer, just stay away from the blended but labeled as "cashmere" ones that they sell in SF, especially at Neiman, they sell for more than the regular ones in Europe
Zegna covers the sweet spot price and quality-wise if you can get their light ones, the store in the Palo Alto doesn't always carry them

Perfect. Just the information I wanted to know. Now the hunt will begin for a Fedeli 14 micron. Thanks!

how do you find the quality of the purple label cashmere compared to the loro piana ?

only ever bought two fine knit cashmere cardigans from the RL purple label (at 50% off) maybe ten years ago, they were pretty average, and at half price, you get what you pay for, at MSRP there are better alternatives, LP, Cucinelli and Zegna are some of them

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
