Mobb Deep has one classic under their belt.
The only NWA album I really enjoy is Niggaz4Life

It seems we're the only ones in agreement. People tend to underestimate Outkast's influence on the southern rap scene.

Give me the Dungeon Family in their prime, and I need not buy another hip-hop CD again.

A bloody disgrace it took 24 responses before someone brought them up. Public Enemy revolutionized a musical genre like few artists did before them. That said, out of that list I chose the Wu.
I really don't think Wu Tang has faded in to oblivion. Look at GZA or Ghost's solo career.
Well said. Anyone who has listened to GZA's Pro Tools, which came out recently, can't say that the individual members of the group aren't still putting out good stuff. The long awaited follow-up to Cuban Linx will probably revitalize Raekwon's career.

The (aforemontioned) best hip hop group you've never heard of. Beautifully weird.
