This is an excellent thread but a little overwhelming!

Can someone more familiar with it's contents please post a "conclusion" of sorts? E.g. where should someone new to bespoke suiting in Singapore go for their (fairly priced) suit?

That would seem to be what the 20 pages worth of this thread suggests...

This excellent thread is quite straight forward and will tell you a lot. It is not appropriate to summarise it. As someone who has only one post, you need to read and assimilate knowledge not expect to follow one line instruction slavishly.

What Mafoo says .. I have a couple jackets that sit high just like yours, but even tho it's a la mode I jus feel it makes me look little boyish (teensy bit).

Sure, GBR. I'll get right on that. Very helpful and I can't believe I didn't consider that myself.

Is it true that bespoke suits can be made for 24-hours in Singapore? Where is this exactly?

Your inexperience tells and you would benefit from reading. A ten or twenty word summary cannot teach you what you need to know.

I feel like the back of the pants fit too oddly? Maybe too much fabric or just some pinching
Because pictures are worth a thousand words:

This is my first bespoke suit, and other than some off wrinkles in the back, I am generally very happy with the outcome. I had requested for a lightly padded shoulder, and I need to tell the tailor next time round that this is still not soft enough. The suit took approximately 3 weeks to complete, and I had a total of 4 fittings. In the first two fittings, the suit was made on a completely different 'test' material, and on the 3rd and 4th fitting mostly everything was complete except for the sleeve buttonholes. The fabric is a 300g (~10oz) navy fresco from ebay (british fabrics), which my tailor has commented was a ridiculous bargain for the price (~$55usd). The lining is 100% viscose, and a bit less reflective than in the pictures. I have already ordered enough fabric for a 3pc suit from the J&J Minnis Rangoon collection, 0126 dark gray, as my next project. Perhaps through the photos you may be able to determine how much handwork was involved? Also, any critique of the craftsmanship, fit, etc. would be greatly appreciated!

I'll be in singapore from Feb 7 - 18th and plan on getting a suit made.

I've come across these suggestions from internet searches:
  • Iris
  • Dylan & Son
  • Maharajas
  • Justmens
  • Eurobest
  • Jacks Custom Tailor
  • Mohans Custom Tailors
  • A&P Custom Tailors
  • Mode & Creation

I plan on doing a bit more research on all of these. Iris will be on vacation when I'm there, so that's a bummer. I've heard a lot of good things about Anthony Tan at Mode & Creation... and it looks like Max at Mohan's advertises himself quite a lot online.

Anyone have any personal recommendations either on that list or not?

A lot of tailors in Singapore, including Iris, will be closed during this period, leaving you unfortunately with those catering to tourist trade.
