My second pair of trousers from Jose Zarpan on the bench.

Should have taken a photo of the leg pattern ah well. Flannel, lining and pocket from top to bottom of photo.

Main forward pleat is 10cm wide at the top on the pattern. Should be boss action.

Looking good.

BTW, that's a very detailed mannequin in the background.

Had my first fitting today.

The pleat I asked for is insane and I think if I could change it, I'd get a smaller one (maybe 8cm instead of 10) but Jose doesn't want to go back now so I think I'll just roll with it. Jose is going to take the trousers in at the waist and the thigh to begin with.

I think I'd also like a wider leg opening to balance out the silhouette, but I'll see what it looks like at the next fitting. Currently there's too much 'bloom' at the thigh, for sure.

Both pleats are obviously a bit wonky at the front, it's just the press.

Fabric is awesome, love it. Either way these are going to be comfortable.

Hello, does anyone have any recommendations for non-iron MTM shirts in Sydney? I'm looking to have white shirts made for work and am very lazy with my ironing. At most, I would run a steamer over the shirts so that's why a non-iron is ideal. Thanks!

Depending on your budget some of the fabric mills offer woven merino wool fabric (eg you might be able to get MTM Vanacore Napoli through Mawson Ossa with such a fabric) and these you can just treat a bit like knitwear and hang it

I’m also looking for a bespoke suit to be made in Sydney. I understand that J Cutler and Bijan are probably the best of the best in Sydney, but do people have any recommendations for the tier under that? Names I’ve come across are Zink and Finery Company. Do people know the reputation of these guys? Any others I’ve missed?

I haven't had a suit made (3x trousers) but I highly recommend The Finery Company. I'm ordering my first jacket from them the next Melbourne trunk show.

Chaps, is Double Monk a reputable retailer? I'm considering buying a navy suede Valstarino from their shop and having it shipped to the UK. Is their shipping decent?

Glad to hear any experience you might have, especially buying from them from outside of Australia.

They are a reputable retailer, yes.

I sent a pair of trousers and a shirt to the US for dry cleaning recently and the fast shipping option with Australia Post cost me $50AUD and arrived in ~8 business days or so. I wouldn't be surprised if Double Monk use DHL for shipping though which would be faster, but more expensive.
