I bought a Zimberg shirt off ruelala's final sale a while back. I wore it yesterday for the first time and noticed some peculiarities about it.

1. The left cuff is slightly smaller than tha right cuff. Incorrect measuring? Bad button placement? Dunno.

2. The sleeves are baggy around the forearms. Kinda freaked me out at first, but I roll em up so it doesn't matter.

3. On the care label, it says "see reverse for care" followed by the care instructions printed right underneath that. There is nothing on the back of the label.

4. It's already fraying a little bit on the bottom where thread has come loose... but then I see it looks pretty frayed all around.

It was new and came with tag. It fits very comfortable and I've had tons of compliments. It doesn't feel like a fake, but I've never tried on another Zimberg to tell, nor would I be able to find one in the Tampa area to compare.

Is all of this kooky asymmetrical design intentional, or did I get ripped off $65?

Zimberg shirts suck. I bought some off Gilt once. ******* awful quality control. They are selling at Nordstrom Rack for twenty bucks. Nice buttons though.

I've had a love-hate relationship with Zimberg's shirts for about a year and a half now. From what I can tell, he sells his "seconds" to the likes of gilt group and rue la la. I think his quality control has gotten better in 2011, because everything I've tried on/bought more recently seems to fit better. I had one instance where the chest of a medium I bought was way more narrow than the previous one, but that was a RueLaLa purchase last year and I returned it. I even wrote in to complain and got a snarky response from whomever was answering e-mails.

His shirts can be a little out there, but if you find the slightly more conservative ones I think they really are works of art. The dyes and threads in some of these shirts are just so hard to find on anything else.

My recommended technique for buying: Wait until he does a "daily deals" promotion at the end of a season where you can snag a shirt for $75, then wait until he releases his next season's line and snap one up. His fall line is just starting to come out now. Taking his time about it though.
