That article completely conflates "cognitive flexibility" and "immaturity". I'm not at all convinced that the one signifies the other, but whoever wrote the article seems to believe that it does. People may demonstrate both at certain points of development, but does that mean that in order to retain one, you have to retain the other? I don't see why it does.
