Appropriate white tie shoes besides patent oxfords?

Hey all, this is my first post, so I hope to be in the right place.

I’m invited to a white tie ball and currently putting together an appropriate attire. Struggling with the shoes however, since I hate patent leather and fear, that opera pumps wouldn’t see much wear.

I own a pair of black velvet Prince Albert slippers, which I wear with my tux, was told however, that these were not formal enough. I’ve also considered a pair of mirror polished wholecut oxfords, perhaps with silk laces.

Are there other correct white tie shoes that you can think of, are highly polished shoes as appropriate as patent leather ones?

I never wear my old Barney’s patent leather shoes, having switched to a pair of black stingray leather shoes made for me by Rozsnyai in Budapest. They are technically derbys but the ultra-shiny stingray leather works as a formal shoe. No longer a fan of plastic shoes. The Oxfords should be fine. Silk ribbon-like laces are a fun accessory, I’ve done that in the past.
