I don't believe so, David. I'm not looking to make a profit here, my intent is more of a community service which serves my own need. I can't have these re-made without a critical mass, so I am reaching out to the community to see if anyone is interested.

I'm happy to defer to the moderation to weigh in, but I believe the intent of this thread would not be well served in the B & S section.

It is 50 shears at 200-250, are you really not making any profit on this? How much is the factory charging you for 50 shears?

I'm being quoted 170 Euros a piece. You're talking about a very expensive ask because these haven't been made in 35 years. They did say that they'd be able to lower the price under some circumstances. I'll also note that I'm working with a tailor in Europe on this, he has more direct contact with the factory than I do b/c of language and time zones, but he's been very transparent with me. His intent is the same as I've mentioned in my previous post.

I am happy to be transparent with actual buyers about the actual cost. I am posting a worst case cost scenario as I'd like to avoid coming back higher, but as of now we're in this range.

i have one pair of 13" weiss that i use to menace small children with.

Hey everyone, just a quick update.

So far there is a total of 30 orders. Another 10 and we're ready to initiate the production. My understanding is that the factory will accept 40, if we get to 35 I will order 5 extra for myself and sell them on eBay (yes, this time for a profit ).

Would definitely LOVE a pair now, am also interested in the longer pairs. Thank you for giving us this opportunity ...

My favourite pair were severely damaged during a move over 20 yrs ago & I've never found a pair like them...have purchased over 100 inferior pairs since then & still looking.

Is it too late to get in on this?

Hi, yes, I'm definitely interested! Please keep me informed about them. I might also be interested in purchasing several to sell in my shop, if the manufacturer can give me a wholesale price. If not, no problem, I'll just get one of the 13" size for myself, as the larger sized shears would be just unmanageable for my tiny hands Will they have gold handles, like one of the images?
