An Asymmetrical Custom Hide Briefcase?

Thanks to lurking on this forum, I ordered a Custom Hide briefcase, the Scholar with pockets. Overall, it seems quite nice, but there seems to be a problem with the shoulder strap.

The briefcase has two main compartments, and two gussets. On one side the shoulder strap attachment is attached to the back gusset, on the other it's attached to the front gusset. I can't tell how much it affects actually wearing the bag. On the side with the strap attached to front gusset, the strap causes the, edge of the flapover to bunch up and wrinkle.

It seems odd that the case would be asymmetrical like this, as if it's only meant to be worn on one shoulder. It also seems odd that Custom Hide would ship one with such an obvious error. I don't think I've ever seen an asymmetrical briefcase. Is it possible that this is the way it's supposed to be? I don't think so, but I figured I'd ask here, and see if anyone else's briefcase looks like this.

Thanks for any input.
