Honestly, if you can't personally wear these then I would not try to flip them. That's a difficult width to resell in my view and I don't think they are in great shape. They aren't terrible but the topy/heels are a negative, the topline by the heels are starting to look iffy, and there may be an issue with the welt at one of the toes (cant tell for sure). Also some staining that might be difficult to fix.

ETA: just as a frame of reference, I think I paid something like 200ish for this black pair last summer just so you can get a sense of condition differences for the money. For whatever reason, even fairly minty Macneils don't seem to sell for a ton.

agreed. I am a 12b and shoes in that size often sit on eBay for 12+ months without selling. Shell Leeds and Macs in much better shape (often near mint condition) can usually be had for 130-160

I think he needs suede.
I need something to use when it rains and snows, this winter we have had lots of snow in New England. My understanding is that some of the leather models are "weatherproof", but the suede ones are only "water repellent"? I was also wondering if you guys had any preference between Dainite or Lug soles. A way back I saw @BagleyBrown has an incredible HM collection! I appreciate your input!

Thanks for the advice, I kept my wallet in my pocket because I figured I'd lose money in the long run, just seemed like a super deal on shell, but I admittedly didn't look over them that close

Not all lug soles are built the same. Current lug offerings are XL soles. Lighter, springier, with about the same grip. I have both the XL and Commando. I prefer Commando but the XL do perform well once you get used to the extra bounce.

Thank you, this place assures a grand collection for all dogs eventually,
even odd-sizers fare well here. :)

Suede is usually treated to be water repellent, so add suede and a storm welt to a boot, and viola!
Weatherproof.

My first choice in rain and snow is a commando sole / lugged HM boot,
XL sole as second choice.

Also realize that AE doesn’t really have that great a resell value in the big scheme of things, especially a well worn pair. I’m sure sure at least partially due to being seen as entry level and just the sheer volume produced and seemingly constant sales.

Suede with saphir invulner will make them bead up water. It works well. I wouldn’t go through feet of snow in suede or even regular leather
