Alden Experts - Need Your Help !

I take a size 9.5 C in an Allen Edmonds calf "Strand." Would an Alden shell cordovan NST on a Barrie last in a size 9 C fit properly? I have no way to try the 9 C on before I buy them but, I can return them if the fit is not okay. I would just have to pay for round-trip shipping. Any constructive guidance and recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not an expert, and, I cannot make a comparison with Allen Edmonds, but I am told by an expert to size down one-half size in length from your normal size when buying Alden's on the Barrie last. That is, if you measure 9.5 on the Brannock device, then you should be fine with a 9 in the Barrie. The width should be your normal Brannock device width.

Barrie doesn't fit wide for me. You are in the minority with that advice.

Most people just size down 1/2 size.
