After years dealing with dust getting on my shoes that I wear less often, I decided to buy some enclosed shoe storage boxes. Most of these kinds of boxes are very flimsy, hard to assemble and don't stack very well. But I found these Antbox units which have almost no assembly and are sturdy. They pull apart like an accordion then you click shelves into place, tool free. Magnets hold doors shut.
I wear a US11, Alden 10.5 Barrie and am about at the max depth to be able to close the doors on my shoes with them straight in. If you had over that size, you might have to angle them slightly. I actually put 3 pairs across each level on a 2 box wide stack, not 4 pairs. I get 1 pair on left, 1 pair split by center divider and 1 pair on the right. and that works well on the "4 layer - 8 grid" size, allowing me to store 12 pairs in the 8 box unit.
I absolutely love them but they only fit up to a Chukka boot in height. Alden jumper boots would need about a 9" high shelf and these are too short.
Has anyone found a good, sturdy, enclosed option that is slightly taller for boots?
