very supercilious.

fortunately black on black is not what defines "modern style" to me and black on black is not the cornerstone of my fashion philosophy

to me...this is something i wouldnt do and is a type of style i see on this forum.

Don't be ridiculous -- if that was posted here it was likely roundly mocked by most. I even like the tie, but with all black it will just be too severe, and you will get Sopranos comments, which will be, in fact, mocking you. This is not a matter of what we like or do not like, nor of competition between traditional and modern, it simply is what is. To answer the original question -- black silk square, naturally. Tipped in silver if you can get it. Regards, Huntsman (who has worn a black shirt with a black suit, admittedly without a tie)

I used to be a big fan of black, but black on black is just too much for me. It often looks uniform-like. Around here, most people wearing black on black are bouncers or doormen at trendy hotels, or maybe waiters at trendy restaurants. Also, it can often give the impression that the wearer has seen Matrix once or twice too much (well, I saw it once and that was too much for me, by the way).

That what you said that you wouldn't do, hey, I like it! A nice combination of colours, as far as I can see. Maybe its a question of age, though.

what is the occassion that you are planning on wearing this outfit for?

black suit, black shirt, and some sort of silvery tire was sort of a uniform in college for guys when they were supposed to dress up. usually the uniform is slightly baggy and goes with messy or spiky hair. maybe thats just the img everyone automatically has in their mind when you describe the outfit.

we'll have to see how it looks fitted properly and with add'l touches like the pocket square.
