National broadcasts for baseball are bad in their own right but especially when compared to the local broadcasts. I mean Michael Kay has been calling Yankees games for 27 years and he's accompanied by Paul O'Neill, David Cone, Kenny Singleton, and John Flaherty. Guys with tons of Yankees and baseball experience that makes for a very rich and varied broadcast. Plus they have a rapport that personalityless Joe Buck and boring biased John Smoltz will never have.
The national guys are generalists that just rehash boring talking points. How many times did they say Verlander is "filthy" during the ALCS? Honestly, it's unwatchable and if someone made a stream that synced up the radio call with the tv broadcast I'd pay good money for it.
