Vegetarian food that does not suck
I cook vegetarian meals regularly. The trick is to start with hearty complementary vegetables (which I usually get from the local farmer's market). Zucchini with almonds, eggplant stuffed with mushrooms, red peppers stuffed with saffron rice, ratatouille, etc. I'll try to find some recipes.- sam

Chelsea Boots good for clubbing
As for shoes, I don't think them getting stepped on is a big deal. Just polish them once a week and you'll be fine. I'm a total gadabout and bar fly and shoes I've worn to the club for the past 7 years still look great with this method.- sam

I really don't see the point in buying cheaper clothes for going out. Depends. Bars, clubs, and restaurants are still smoking establishments here. Imagine how wonderful your clothes will smell after four hours of cigarette smoke, sweat, and booze; at a minimum, your dry cleaning bill won't be...- sam

My 1st Raw Denim & Buyer's Remorse
(a) The jeans will stretch out. (b) After a few wears (breaking in period), they'll be super soft and comfortable. (c) Wash them when they're smelly; they're just jeans. Getting rid of TV altogether?
I haven't watched television in probably 10 years (I'm 28). Best decision I made. Frankly, it's an input with little or no output. As for benefits, you'd be surprised how much of a time sink it is. I now have more time to read, party, get laid, etc. I've found I'm also more creative.- sam

Reduce (tailor) waist size of raw denim?
You could, but it's really easy for jeans to go pear-shaped. Just throw them inside out in the dryer (with a sheet of Bounce in the back pocket for freshness) and they'll shrink back down again.- sam

My hair's about as long as that. Keep in mind, depending on the texture of your hair, there may be a certain amount of upkeep involved. Like you can't just wash and go. For instance, I have to blow dry my hair, lest I end up with a nappy Jewish 'fro.- sam

budget hotels in LA and San F
I was just in SF and stayed at the Metro Hotel. Cheap, albeit very small rooms, and conveniently located to almost anything cool. It was like $77/night. You can also check out Yelp.com, particularly for SF; it's loaded with solid reviews.- sam

Altering the waist of a pair of jeans is very tricky business; they could go pear-shaped _very_ easily. I'd say try to shrink them in the dryer (although they'll stretch out again), wear a belt, or buy new jeans.- sam
