    Stylish clothes for travel?

Thanks Lee. That is the spproach taken. Wool & Prince and Bluffeorks are travel brands, using the materials developed for the hiking community for “city” clothes. The Hopsack blazer is specifically for travel, no crease, machine or hand wash, fast dry, lots of internal pockets. It just looks...

For those in Sydney who need a good Cobbler, I have been greatly assisted by Ken Ho from Beecroft Cobbler, (02 9481 8303) I purchased some Loakes Chatsworth boots which were way too small for me (the sales dude said they would "wear in" but instead they stripped the skin off my heels). (See...

    full length trench coats makers?

They seem to only have 2 full length This one with the odd belt and weird side panel and this one - which is only single breasted Well I will be in Tokyo in a few weeks so I guess I should stop off and have a look in store. All their Macs are 3/4 length as well. Thanks Richard

Can anybody help me decide between a Burberry, Grenfell, or SEH Kelly trench?

To be fair, that Trench on the right is a bespoke coat by "The Finery Company" in Sydney Australia. I stopped by and had a chat with them last Saturday and it seems a Bespoke trench such as that will set you back around what a 'off the rack' Burberry would cost in Oz.

    full length trench coats makers?

To resurrect an old thread ... Turns out I am also in the market for a Trench, full length, and this one seems a bit short at 43" for the 44, that isn't even 110cm. So 6" shorter than a full length Burberry Kensington, or am I not understanding the measurements. Broadly speaking, is London...

AMERICAN TRENCH - OFFICIAL AFFILIATE THREAD

Can I ask a possibly dumb question - but what happened to the Trench Coat? Do you not make it any more? Can't see anything on your website, no mention of it in this thread. Searching the website for "ventile" gets only a hat. Just a seasonal thing? Or have you moved on from that? Thanks...

Unfunded Liabilities: a/k/a The Cloth Thread

This one? https://www.drakes.com/products/drake-s-for-permanent-style-rider-s-raincoat Looks like it was done by the same chap who did the Motor Trench for Private White. https://www.privatewhitevc.com/blogs/journal/the_permanent_style_ventile_motor_trench

Unfunded Liabilities: a/k/a The Cloth Thread

Noticed this post. Am interested in acquiring a quality waterproof (mainly) trench for trips during cooler / wetter seasons. But have pretty well struck out in Australia. Have not really found anyone who stocks them other than Burberry. Where would be a good place to look for quality trench...

Thanks Geoffrey I am in the process of starting to travel extensively for pleasure and will be heading of to South Korean and Japan for a month end of Oct, then Europe for 7 weeks start of March 24. Have pretty well settled what I will be taking - except my outer shell. Have a woolen great...

+1 to that, amazing changes in Japan from end-WWII to now. Excuse my ignorance please, but what is "RL" as in "RL concession". I will be in Tokyo next month and know next nothing about its menswear other than what I read in Ametora - and that book's basic lesson is "it changes".

    LOAKE APPRECIATION THREAD

Well Mr Ho from the "Beecroft Cobbler" called me back to take and try the Chatsworths again. He has softened then rather them stretching them as he is concerned about making them too big and asked me to take them an wear them for a while to see. Have walked a few km in them and they are...

    LOAKE APPRECIATION THREAD

The benefit of experience @suitforcourt. With 400 pairs I guess you would not have feet left if you hadn't nailed down that approach. Thanks for sharing that, will remember it going forward. (My feet will too).

    LOAKE APPRECIATION THREAD

This chap had spent quite a bit of time with me, trying various options and wasn't pushy about selling. I got the impression he genuinely thinks this is how it is supposed to be - drawing blood - as the shoes adapt to your feet. That you suffer for your reward. I hope he is wrong KOz, and that...

    LOAKE APPRECIATION THREAD

Visited the Loakes retail store in Sydney again and the chap who sold me the Chatworths basically said 'yep, that is what you can expect, can take years to break them in' which seems weird as they have very flexible and soft leather uppers. Then that evening I made my way home in just socks...

    LOAKE APPRECIATION THREAD

It concerns me a bit too. These are the 1st "quality" shoes I have owned in a long time, it is 20+ years since I have worn shoes that need breaking in so don't really know what to expect. I am off to Japan in Nov and wanted some boot type shoes I could slip on and off fairly easily. Saw these...

    LOAKE APPRECIATION THREAD

Note sure if this is the right place to ask but I need some help with my new Loake Brown Waxed Leather Chatsworths The chap who sold them to me at Loake Australia's retail store suggested I use a dubbin on them, and sold me a jar of Loake brown shoe creme to touch up scratches. One the box...

    Stylish clothes for travel?

Good to know. Will be in Korea from 26th Oct to 7th Nov, then Japan from 7th Nov till 26th I show the temp range in Seoul for Oct as typically 10-22 and in Tokyo in Nov from 9-17 Won't be going any further north than Nanao in Japan. Think we do end up in some moutainour areas though. Sounds...

    Stylish clothes for travel?

Is it the rigidity of a roller bag that is helpful here? I have quite a few trips planned, may end up trying different styles of luggage to see which ends up as the best compromise. This jacket...

    Stylish clothes for travel?

Ouch. But reading back through it, I can see why you think so. No one, however, will think I am humble bragging about the is the Blazer I bought from Bluffworks. It is a disaster. Their page for their 'Hopsack' Blazer. More like a sack than a blazer. Or maybe more a heavy shirt or cardigan...
