    Rutherfords England - Buyer Beware

This picks up a line from the "briefcase appreciation thread". Rutherfords are so singularly crap that they deserve a thread of their own. I ordered a briefcase from Rutherfords England in March of 2021. After 14 months of excuses (that they have made to other disappointed customers), they...

    Briefcase Appreciation thread

One can only speculate. It's been floated before that Rutherfords are likely to prioritise large/bulk orders from Southeast Asia. Anyway, some of their excuses are pitiful. Think of a 5 year old running a business and you get the picture......

    Briefcase Appreciation thread

Rutherfords are a joke. There are two other members who have tried cancelling - just like their "made to order bags", the money was never delivered.......I also know of another person not on this forum who is in the same predicament.

    Briefcase Appreciation thread

Have updated my post. There are clauses for businesses like Rutherfords (i.e. who push back delivery dates) which extends the period you can claim by up to 540 days.

    Briefcase Appreciation thread

This is only usually possible within 3 months, though there are clauses to cover situations like this and I have taken the matter up with my credit card company. I have also reported Rutherfords England to the local office of fair trading and to https://www.econsumer.gov/

    Briefcase Appreciation thread

Update on Rutherfords - I ordered March 2021. They claim to have shipped 3 weeks ago and gave me a bogus UPS tracking number 1 week ago. When I asked for a copy of their correspondence with UPS as proof of shipping, they tell me that they don’t ship directly, but use a 3rd party (who presumably...

    Briefcase Appreciation thread

I considered ordering a SAB case just over a year ago but went with Rutherfords instead........I'm still pestering Rutherfords, but have absolutely nothing to show for it.

    Briefcase Appreciation thread

I've had a similar experience. Ordered a briefcase over a year ago. Enquired after a couple of months regarding its progress and each time the excuses have mirrored those described above, albeit with COVID thrown in. I would steer clear of Rutherford's.

Anyone have experience buying from The Rake?

Sorry, story was in my last post above. Their customer service is definitely worse than Mr. Porter or Matches, let alone Kirby Alison’s Hanger Project (which is second to none).

Anyone have experience buying from The Rake?

Their response to sending out the wrong item (of less than half the value of what I'd ordered) was to offer a 10% discount on "my next order", rather than offering a refund. They are saying that because they didn't receive a package from DHL it is their "policy" not to refund, despite me giving...

Anyone have experience buying from The Rake?

I ordered a leather folio and a manicure set as presents prior to Christmas. The package arrive in time, but they had sent me a pair of woven leather shoes. These have been returned via DHL but they refuse to refund me. This is because DHL didn’t use the tracking number Rake provided and they...

What do you consider to be good food?

Marc, Doesn't your regular tipple give you "piss-breath"? Just curious.

What do you consider to be good food?

Marc, You were born in the wrong century: you really should have been an 18th century physician - that way you could have made money out of drinking piss.

    Vass Shoes Sample Sale!!

It's a pain *********** to order from Kow Hoo at a distance: I got them to make me a pair like this once, but they were very reluctant to do so. The last-maker is ancient, but he's very good indeed, and the shoe will fit perfectly. The quality is good, but not excellent (think Crockett and...

    the whole cast is perfect

The Royal Tenenbaums is one of my favourite movies. The clothes are amusing, but frankly they look crap. Most of the coats are more than 2 inches too short.
