One can only speculate. It's been floated before that Rutherfords are likely to prioritise large/bulk orders from Southeast Asia. Anyway, some of their excuses are pitiful. Think of a 5 year old running a business and you get the picture......- MPS

Rutherfords are a joke. There are two other members who have tried cancelling - just like their "made to order bags", the money was never delivered.......I also know of another person not on this forum who is in the same predicament.- MPS

Have updated my post. There are clauses for businesses like Rutherfords (i.e. who push back delivery dates) which extends the period you can claim by up to 540 days.- MPS

This is only usually possible within 3 months, though there are clauses to cover situations like this and I have taken the matter up with my credit card company. I have also reported Rutherfords England to the local office of fair trading and to https://www.econsumer.gov/- MPS

I've had a similar experience. Ordered a briefcase over a year ago. Enquired after a couple of months regarding its progress and each time the excuses have mirrored those described above, albeit with COVID thrown in. I would steer clear of Rutherford's.- MPS

Their response to sending out the wrong item (of less than half the value of what I'd ordered) was to offer a 10% discount on "my next order", rather than offering a refund. the whole cast is perfect
