HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part IV (starting May 2014)

No it looks perfectly fine—not at all like an orphaned suit jacket. Well done! But for the love of all things sartorial, take the tag off the jacket sleeve. Can't tell if it's there because you haven't yet decided to keep it, or because you thought it was some style statement. If it were the...

Don't agree. They're nowhere near 1/3 of the width. They look way too narrow. It's not 1964.

Very nice look. For future shots, might suggest a different environment than a men's bathroom.

And while you're at it, shorten them. Bordering on "puddle pants."

Risky indeed. Pants look like what they are: trousers orphaned from a suit. Everything else looks great.

HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part IV (starting May 2014)

Very nice jacket, both in pattern and fit. Would suggest a shirt with shorter points and a much wider spread, so they end up under the lapels of your fine jacket. These long, droopy points smother your tie, pull the viewer's attention downward rather than up toward your face, and detract from...

The tux looks great, but if it were me, I'd have completed the look and buttoned the shirt and worn a self-tie bow tie. Wearing such a classically formal outfit only part way just seemed a bit off. But then again, I wasn't the one wearing it. :-)

Re your photo with the two women traipsing through the background. My wife and I have a running joke about how I alway manage to ask the absolute worst person to take our picture: They don't hold the camera/phone level, could care less about trying to avoid distracting things in the background...

Very nice jacket. But I beg of you, lose the black shirt. Unless you're planning to audition for a remake of Goodfellas.

This photo wins the 2023 award for best evocative lighting and background. Five stars!

Do I keep this sport coat?

I'll be the lone wolf here. Shoulders look very structured. If you're used to soft/unstructured shoulders you will never be happy with this. I'd walk away.

Suggest a shirt with wider/longer collar points, so they rest under the jacket lapels, not in front of them.

Your best look yet by far. Love how you've simplified things, eliminating all the adornment/complicated patterns that were frequently on display in past outfits.

I've used Tie Crafters for years, both to clean ties and shorten them. They're great.

Then I suggest you not limit yourself to buying ties where you work. You can get custom ties from Sam Hober, made to the exact length and width you want, the quality/craftsmanship is great, and they cost no more than good ready-made ties (okay, more than you're probably paying with your employee...

Great-looking suit, but may I politely offer that the tie is a bit too long—ideally, you'd want it to end at your waist band, not mid-crotch. (Apologies for repeating someone's earlier observation. Not trying to pile on. I just couldn't find a way to delete my post.)

HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part IV (starting May 2014)

I'm in agreement with your assessment, but may I suggest you save yourself some time and lose the initial caps on every word—you're not writing a title, you're writing sentences.

HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part IV (starting May 2014)

Here's a guess re why the photo is so dark: It's possible the focus point the phone was reading was the (very light and bright) background, which would cause it to underexpose you. As you'll see, the background looks appropriately lit. If the phone were concentrating on you, you and your suit...

HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part IV (starting May 2014)

Fabulous outfit. My only suggestion: I think the look would be even better if your pants were just a bit longer. It may be a function of how you're standing (particularly in the first photo) and/or the short vamp on your shoes. Not suggesting you go with double-break, puddle pants, just that you...

HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part IV (starting May 2014)

Great question—love your attention to detail. I meant unbuttoning one of the series of buttons that make up a button-up fly. Fortunately, all my trousers have zippers, so I'm not tempted to go sprezzatura with fly buttons. But guess I could opt to not fully zip my zipper, to show my solidarity...
