    I've been channeling my 90's wardrobe quite a bit these last few years actually... Surplus jackets more often than not, and my current obsession with Rancourt boots is definitely rooted in the Eastland's I wore to high school.

    The Aspen is quite a bit darker than the Vibram - dark caramel vs light tan. The Aspen is considerably softer. The mini Vibram isn't quite as hard as a Montagna, but closer to that than it is to the Aspen. The mini Vibram's also harden with time and crack a bit around the edges in my experience...

    The decline of MMM is depressing. I'm a huge fan of Maine Handsewn boots, and they were the only company producing 7-8 eye boots and interesting make-ups the last couple years. Edit - other than Yuketen of course... I tend to forget them as they are rarely available in my size.

    I've seen older pairs, especially the New England Outerwear line that were nicely made. But the two pairs of MMM I bought and returned in early 2020 looked like they were made by D students in a middle school Home Ec class. Truly shameful "quality control."

    These new Harrison's have the Rally sole: https://www.lactae-hevea.com/images/semelles/H_RALLYE_2012_02.jpg It is pretty heavily textured, I'm guessing they would have good traction in wet conditions unlike the VERY slippery Aspens. I've had a lot of close calls wearing Aspens on wet pavement.
