Also, I kinda miss my 2230.50 with the white gold bezel insert. That was sweet.

I’d recommend a WatchCo assembled SM300 to anyone not too purist or pious. This design has yet to be improved.

No Rolex? The Sinn U50 SDR has been a revelation. Slim, robust, distinct design, a much higher quality feel that the (second hand) price suggests. The T50 might be better looking objectively, and with a better movement, but U-series if so Sinn! I’m smitten! Thinking of adding an EZM.

I will wear this to garden parties at that one friend of my wife’s who has a douchy husband. I not only fit right in, and also win at douchy.

Like others have pointed out, I’m guessing a missing digit, for example at the end of the serial, making it a 2.9mil approx 1971. Lovely watch, get a new crystal and enjoy it! Here is my 1977 1603, for reference.

The new Daytona case looks a bit off in some pictures and videos. Stubby lugs and slab sides compared to the old case.

Also, I guess my green Daytona is now discontinued?

Indeed! All three times I bought a Daytona from my AD, 2006, 2016 and 2021, I timed it with a relative hype though.

How depressing having to simp to your AD. I want my dealer to send me postcards, begging me to buy their overpriced and useless trinkets. Enjoying the depreciation of this piece and others, and what it hopefully means for future buying experiences

My 2005 Rolex 16710 has been on my wrist this week, for a splash of color in a grey, wet season. Picked this one up for a song way back when, still find the five digit models the most versatile Rolexes. Tried on the Pelagos 39mm at the local AD, wears much like a lighter five digit Sub, so...

Say what? I was getting a bit worked up, all «Tear into him for his love of a Seiko or his sweater or some ****, but an effing typo?» Then I checked your contributions here little buddy  I’m just not that cruel. Btw, the SBGW231 fuchs. It fuchs tied up emperial courtesans while the...

I like that Tudor! Thinking of the black one myself, I quite like the gilt dial and hands. 18 years on the wrist, this Sub Date is still going strong :) Never babied this watch, but all the scars just disappear when worn.
