    OK, now I need $18K

I love the mercator, but prefer the beautiful enameled version. Unless it's not your cup of tea, of course.

Slim fitting slacks, do they even exist?

Try Zegna "Z" - I think it is made to regular Zegna standards of VERY nice fabrics. They have a very slim, flat front cut that even I - with legs ruoghly the diameter of my arms - find snug.

    barney's "private" sale...

I saw the strangest C&J: dress boot (never seen the model before,  not in catalog) made from combination calf/suede. Seemed to be made to  handgrade standard (chanelled sole) with a price to match (if I remember correctly, about $695 pre-sale). COuldn't figure the model/last number.

    calzoleria harris shoes

I'd venture a guess: 1) An Ebay seller in this case essentially bridges an information gap in the market whereby a feller who normally  wouldn't think of looking for a Harris shoe at Marshall's and thus may miss on the opportunity, gets a second chance to buy the shoe (at a certain premium...

    barney's "private" sale...

well, the postcard that I received definitely said "Barney's outlet" for the same dates - Nov. 18. Maybe it's a location thing? i.e., includes main stores except the NY store?

It's only for Barney's outlet - not the main store.

    Shoe Repair

I called the London shop a while ago, and they offer a full refurbishement service for 90 GBP plus 30 for shipping back. They also have a local cobbler who will only replace soles for about 60 GBP, but if you bother sending your shoes back, you might as well go all the way. You might want to...

    You know you're clothes-obsessed when...

    1. You actually have a use for the pharse "I'm going to see my tailor" 2. You find yourself looking at other men on the street just because they're well dressed (or badly dressed, even more entertaining) 3. You know more than most clothes salesclercks about the merchandise they're selling 4...

It sucks having muscular legs sometimes...

I didn't get it - isn't boot-cut by definition not straight leg? why not just get the straight leg model, then?

It sucks having muscular legs sometimes...

amazing. I have the exact opposite problem: I have 32 waist but my thighs - well, I can probbaly fit two of mine into one of yours. I actually tried everything to bulk them up. Neither weight training nor 50 miles of cycling per weekend nor swimming made any dent. I will never forget how my aunt...

    Recent WWChan visit in NYC

All those who've visited with Chan in the last few days - what did you think of the staff's own suits? I would imagine they are full bespoke WW Chans, no? (otherwise, what's the point of working there...) But for some reason, and I can't really put my finger on it, they looked to me like what a...

    Recent WWChan visit in NYC

This is rather dissappointing to read. I hope I will find their shirts at least superior to RTW at a similar price point (avergae $100 per shirt). I too tried to ask for a softer interlining for the collar but was told they only used one type, which Patrick described as 'medium-stiff'. I wore a...

    Recent WWChan visit in NYC

I just came back. it was my first time using Chan, so I just ordered shirts and slacks. Come spring, when they're back here, I might order a suit depending on how the shirts/slacks turn out. Patrick was good to deal with, even though he had to stop me at the door, having forgotten to take my...
