Went into an interesting optical boutique on Friday. The better living by design clique informed me my current frames are unobtainable…Mede!

However I had a good look at the Lindberg frames…MOG you hardly feel them on your face best thing is they offer a MTM service at the same price as OTR

So considering these Corona

hello, love this thread - you gave me advice about 10 years ago and I got OP's - still love them. So - I am looking for a new pair of made in japan sunglasses, acetate, high quality hardware, classic looks, not overly garish, no gimmics, not too flashy, something that I can wear the next 40 years, timeless. sunglasses that could look good today, but would'nt be out of place in the 60s or 70s or 80s. dark havana, or some kind of havana/samoa/brown acetate

I like the aethetics of Lunnatterie General, Oliver Peoples, Oliver Goldsmith, Tom Ford, Masunaga, Matsuda. here are some I like after a quick look online:
- Lunnatterie General: Minuit Moins Une, À Tout Jamais
- JMM: Fellini, Dealan

any other brands that have a similar aesthetic I am missing, or any doing cool things?

Also - do you know the best place (based on above) to try on sunglases - los angeles or vancouver, BC accessible for me.

If you like acetate I would have a look at Maison Bonnet. You can order custom made glasses there and the look is classical.

I have always been curious about the Tipton eyewear shop in Budapest. Next time I'm there (and for some reason this keeps postponing) I will visit that shop..

Lesca makes interesting acetate too. They're French. The sizing is a bit different I think, way smaller glasses than JMM... in acetate, that will probably be my choice for this year..

I like Lindberg but I don't like those hinges at the sides... they look a bit sketchy..

The Japanese brands show better works at the hinges, the arms, arm tips, etc.. IMHO of course.
