Not entirely sure how I feel about this quite yet.
This is the only Glenallachie I've tried, after hearing the fanfare for the distillery here, and had the same initial reaction. After letting it sit for a while and come back to it I find it enjoyable as a change of pace from my preferred sherried drams, with a strong green apple note.

You're kinda becoming my scotch hero...
I have a rather large collection, but you bust out a new bottle of delish everyday.
Step back and let the man cook!

Ha, cheers. I feel VERY safe saying my collection is meager (relatively speaking lol) to some folks here, but growing at an (uncomfortably) rapid pace.

FWIW, I thought this improved greatly all around (especially on the nose) after ~1 hour or so in the glass. But, with prices being close to equal, I'm inclined to say Dronny 12 over this all day. I think Glenallachie is worth exploring though. Have a new bottle to crack tonight, and first sniff (like, immediate bottle crack sniff) is some sort of decadent. Will report back with #bottleporn and thoughts later.
