Title says it all. I don't mean to get all Bateman on the forum, but I did want to ask the question.
I'm no expert but I believe it's the beginning of the lapel or the sharp point of the "V". It is often used in the context of "high gorge" vs "low gorge" to denote where you want the lapel to start. Low gorge means you want to show more chest, and high gorge implies the opposite. I learned this from "J" our moderator and style guru.
I don't know what J told you or not, but that is plainly wrong. The gorge is where the lapel and collar of a jacket meet (the notch in the lapel). That's it. The 'V' of the jacket is determined by button stance.
fyi, I never asked J directly but I read his post that's what I thought it was. I did say I'm "not expert." Don't need to go style nazi on me.
Rough day man, people have it out for you today it seems.

ha ha. Nothing like an angry dude behind a keyboard:
Sorry, didn't mean to sound aggressive or like an ass.
Why is this a poll? It isn't exactly a matter of opinion.
Is that your final answer?
