What a double feature!

Glengarry Glen Ross! Such a great film.

The leads are weak.' Effing leads are weak? You're weak!

Loved Oppenheimer. Thought it was great with a lot of themes going on.

Going to watch Insomnia (2002) in a minute, can't remember if I saw that, maybe I did though and I'll pivot.

No one I know!
Alright, who is signing up for the Oppenheimer/Barbie double feature?
We did! Both movies were great but (obvs) very different. Six hours in the movie theater, once you included previews, with about 40 minutes between features. We watched Oppenheimer on the IMAX screen.

I'm debating it--either way I am seeing both this weekend (no IMAX anywhere near unfortunately--closest regular IMAX is 2.5hr and 70mm is 5 hours away in Canaa).

We're getting blasted with heat, so we're doing a 3PM oppenheimer--will make the call on barbie afterwards--either get a post-dinner showing or plan to beat the heat again tomorrow afternoon.

Anytime I see Bruno Kirby, I can't help but think of him in Basketball Diaries as the creepy/**** coach.
And Jim Carroll, who I don't believe identified as gay, used to prostitute himself for heroin money.

Those are people who died, died...

Yeah i told the gf in the opening scene that shelley is just a pathetic man. She was like dont say that. At the end "wow he really was a pathetic man."

We kept talking about how it really didnt matter what was beint sold it was all lies anyway. I wonder if they couldn't sell because they were lying or if they were lying because they couldn't sell. Because Roma spent the night not even selling and then closed the deal.

Also did Alec work for Mitch and Murray? Kind of like the land, it didn't matter. All that matters is closing.

mamet is fun ( if uneven ) but i thought the stricken daughter thing was laughable and a bridge too far

Ended up doing the Barbenheimer double feature. Worth it.

The 3:00 Oppenheimer theater was the best behaved audience I have had in a long time. Didn’t see a single phone, no talking, legit.

The 8pm Barbie not so much…. Also too many small children for pg13 movie that will let out at 10:30PM.

I suppose I should comment on the movies too. Both were great.

Wish I could have seen Oppenheimer in 70mm just for the sheer audacity and dedication to the craft that it must have taken to decide to film a historical drama in 70mm.
