Desi, I definitely agree that sandals would make that an awesome fit. Before I zoomed in on the pic (I'm on my iPhone), I thought you were wearing a pair. I suppose I was projecting. Those nationalistic shoes are interesting, though.

I tried to do the lumberjack thing, but it doesn't look very good, I just can't figure out exactly why. Is it because the shirt and jeans are too similar in color and there isn't enough contrast?

Is the tag at the bottom of the shirt supposed to show like that? In the stock photos they have it showing, but I'm thinking I might cut it off.

The boots are taupe R&B Mallory boots that I bought off Gilt. They fit my feet really well and are very comfortable, but for some reason the eyelets at the top of each boot are different with one boot having normal eyelets and the other with the kind you wrap the shoelace around like on hiking boots. Since I'm assuming this isn't part of the intended design and I found a place to get them $50 cheaper, I'll be returning this particular pair. Also, there is absolutely no texture on the soles and I can glide around on the carpet, which isn't really a good feeling when I'm walking. Is this smooth of a sole normal for new boots? I'm assuming outside wear will give them enough texture to where this isn't an issue, is this correct?

Could I do better if I'm looking for a versatile boot for $250 or less?

Sorry for the 20 questions....

Weird that a boot would have such a garbage sole, I'd get them re-soled by a cobbler.

In my experience, clothing really can't cover you up if you feel uncomfortable in your own body. You seem to be confident and happy with what you've accomplished so far, which is a very good thing - but the feeling of taking your clothes off, looking at yourself, and thinking "ugh" is definitely a bad one (I'm not saying you should feel this way now, just that it's something you can overcome). This is pretty much a tangent now, but get the body you want, whatever it may be - rugby player, footy player, linebacker, whatever - and then buy clothes that fit it. And just so you don't get worried before you start, this forum is really geared much more towards fit guys wearing FITTED clothing than rail-thin models wearing runway gear. We have both, but you'll definitely have plenty of resources if you're the former.

Now, I can get down with this. Well said and +1

Try Naked and Famous Weird Guys... I have big upper legs and the Weird Guys are made for guys with bigger upper blocks (ass/thighs/quads), but they still have a nice taper.
don't buy WGs if you have a big ass. the rise is way too low.

That's probably just that you're not used to leather soles. You can either a) have a cobbler put a thin rubber layer on (topy) for protection and grip, or b) wear them as is and the leather will get scuffed and provide more traction. assuming it is actually a leather sole.
