Ran into Ming Thien today and he showed me his latest project. The Ming ultralight, powered by a manual wind movement and housed in a magnesium alloy case, it weighs just under 9grammes - or use his comparison - the same as two sheets of A4 copy paper

The weird thing is that it feels so light, it doesn’t feel like a watch

As far as interesting watches under $10k, just saw this. Interesting in how they achieved the aesthetic of the dial without using any coloring/pigment, although there isn't really anything interesting about the titanium case, etc.

I've tried on one of these without the laser dial, and they just didn't seem as interesting in person as they do in marketing photos. I was disappointed because I really do like the overall design of the watch, and the fact that it is titanium. I wonder if this will be any different, but I do think $8k $5k is pretty steep.

I picked up the 42 mm version a few weeks ago and absolutely love it. I knew the 39mm version was coming but had decided that I liked this watch best in its original 42 mm size. What I'm struggling with, though, is figuring out how a new size (39 mm) with the exact same movement somehow merits a 33% price increase. Wow.
