I thought there was a vote or something where the Forum decided as much?

Yeah, it definitely was an iconic shoe around the 2013-2014 timeframe here. They were more common but not too common.

Carmina Amaretto jumpers this evening. These days I almost always reach for boots on Ridgeway, and consequently these sat unworn for almost 16 months. Gotta admit double JR soles feel really good, but may move these this year.

Newly arrived French Shriner PTBs. The Boston factory closed in April 1971, so these are likely about 50 years old.

The second pair of vintage PTBs arrived yesterday. The first were the French Shriners seen a few posts back and these are Phi-Bates. The the company claimed campus trendsetters were wearing them. They even had a Council of Campus Style Advisors of some sort that may only have existed in the ads.

These are not quite the same PTB shown in the ad as these are 5 eyelets vs the three eyelet model.
