Love it. Our old local community college somehow had lots of these (real HM tags ..) in their conference rooms at least up until the early aughts. Also wondered where they would go when they day came to remodel ...
It’s been a while since I checked, but at least two of the universities near me used to have regular sales of old furniture and equipment they had replaced. I remembered seeing quite a few Eames DCM chairs at one of them, all with bolts drilled through the backrests to make them stronger.

Yeah some of those office buildings.. Went to my Fiance's old work once and they had hundreds.. literally hundreds of Herman Miller chairs. Every desk had an Aeron chair and the big meeting room had a large table with about 30 time life chairs. Astounding amount of expense for just office chairs.

In fairness the backrests of those chairs are flimsy as hell, they break off so easily.

After picking up a rather nice vintage blue flannel six-by-two sport coat, I am realising that I am now old enough to wear double breasted jackets.

This has made me bitterly regret selling an astounding 1960s bespoke grey flannel suit that fit like it was made for me, made by a legendary Danish tailor who catered to the rich & famous. In terms of quality it was unlike anything I have ever seen, up there with the very best British or Italian houses. I sold it in my early days of sartorial awakening because I felt weird wearing the DB jacket. I would have loved rocking it now.

It also made me think: I told you mine – what is your biggest regret in terms of selling a thrifted item that you should have kept?
I sold a 1940s horsehide d pocket biker jacket when i was hard up one time. And it fit me perfectly. That one still hurts.

I know this isn't the office furniture thread but... Somehow our office redo included all HM chairs. Not sure about the other stuff but every cube and office got either an Aeron or an Embody. I was assigned an Embody and quickly swapped it out for an Aeron. When they closed a small satellite office I was told all the furniture (HM aerons and a conference room full of some Aeron like HM chair, eames bar height seats and two eames chairs) was staying with the office or for the sublease tenant.

I popped in shortly before closing and couldn't help but notice the absence of a few aerons. Wouldn't surprise me at all if in the waning days the rest of the HM wares grew legs and walked out also.
