Living minimally for house showings until we close on another. Wife’s in Vermont for two weeks. Today begins my “hosting season”. (Oddly, engineers and contractors don’t have much interest in Phoenix to golf and ATV until it cools off…yet it was ten degrees warmer in Dallas yesterday! 🤣)

So, I’m lounging this morning in my shell cap toe Atoms…The brain child of Adam and @JSO1 and far superior in my eyes to the short wing variants.

Glad to see those again.

I bought a pair of 9D No. 8 LHS a couple years ago. They fit well without socks or with thin socks… just a little bit of soreness on the top of the left foot by the end of the day. Two years later and broken in they are incredibly comfortable and no top of the foot issues. Now forward to today and I just received a black shell LHS 987 version and they seem a bit snug all over, more so than I remember with my first pair. Is it common for the same shoe model to vary in size?

With the above said, yesterday when I received my black pair I proceeded to wear them around the house for about 6 hours. If I recall, I think I was much better with the No. 8’s wearing them just 1-2 hours a day for the first couple of weeks. Both needed a shoe horn to put on the foot when new. Now, the No. 8’s easily slide on my foot without a horn.

Maybe I’m just too anxious for my new shoes to have an old shoe fit?

Cordovan color maintenance question

Fellas, how do you care for your Cordovan colors? I’ve only used VSC on my shell in the past, but would like to add some color back to a pair or two. Does stuff like Saphir cream or Alden cream add back color?

Can't go wrong with Saphir, they do a Cordovan-specific line which is colored. There is Black, something near to #8 Horween and some others. I use it very sparingly or on abrasions, especially the #8.
