Is buying C&J shoes directly from retailer in the UK still a thing? It was pre covid. Looking for some affordable shell loafers that would be cheaper vs if I bought them from the US. Thanks.

Check at Bodiley's, all my C&J bought from them, lovely people to deal with.

Regards
Yes to Bodiley's. I've gotten a few from them and I believe it was during November / December sales. What we Yanks refer to as Black Friday.

@coolarrow also checkout Fulham ES (Spain), borghini and a few other Italian shops for wider selections. Upper shoes in France is a good option for whiskey and navy shell.

+2 to Bodileys (and Borghini Classic and Fulham ES). Also Bodileys has 20% off their Mayfair collection at the moment if those C&J styles are of interest

Appreciate the head's up. Just rushed over there to buy the dark brown suede penny loafers, but they're already out of my size. Oh well.

Apart from the last is there any major difference with C&J main lines (material, etc) ? the price difference is significant

here is no difference.. you could argue that the highest quality calf they have is the bakers Russian grain or the wax hide on the Snowdon and neither are on the hand grade line! Of course these leathers are heavy suits and u cannot put them on an Oxford shoe either.

Indiana on 378.
That is an interesting model that stands out and has gone under my radar. The vibram sole complements the rough-out leather so nicely; both have a bit of outdoors character. I have the Coniston brown RO and while I do like it I think it might be even better with a vibram. The black Coniston RO has the vibram and it adds just that something.

That being said, I would not go for a vibram with the scotch grain Conistons.

Btw, does anyone know the background of the apron fronted shoes? Is there a design reason behind or is it just the looks?
