Seriously, one of the major things I (we) hate about buying sweaters is that they are all WAY too large. A sweater in my opinion should be about 2-4" larger around the chest than the actual chest measurement. I am a 40 chest, should properly wear a size medium, and usually a small is closer to my size and sometimes still too big. I prefer my sweaters to fit close so they can fit under whatever else I wear, such as a close fitting jacket.

I should also mention that the sleeves should be proportionally tighter on most sweaters as well. I don't have skinny arms, but I don't want a whole bunch of extra fabric around them either. I like them to fit inside a coat or jacket without bunching up or binding, and I find the fitted look much more pleasing as well.

I'd love a slim-fit sweater that fits a chest 34. I guess I can always dream!

Well said J. The only sweater I've owned that fit correctly (in my mind) was a Banana Republic size S; I'm a 40/41. At 44" around, I couldn't justify your Unisex crewneck.

Of course, I'm a bit picky. The elastic at the waist just doesn't suit my body type and at the sleeves I find uncomfortable. So if you make a crew neck with a 42" chest, 35" waist, and no elastic, I'll bite.

What are the waist and shoulder sizes like on your women's V-necks?

Actually we only make the womens in crew, in M the shoulder is 34cm and the waist (all around) is 90cm

I have found Eredi Pisano's cashmere sweaters to be close fitting. I picked up another one on sale a few weeks ago and fits me very nicely, both around the chest and sleeves. Keep in mind that I wear a size 36 in the US.
