Hello everyone. Recently decided to upgrade my wardrobe with all new items. The following question appeared - how to take care of it?
First of all I've decided to buy a new steamer. Which one you can recommend? I'm not looking for the best clothes steamer, something decent for average price.
Secondly, maybe there are some extra tips which you can provide? How to wash my clothes properly etc.
Sorry for silly question, however, I want my new items to look fresh and clean as long as it's only possible.
Thanks!

Wash clothes on cold or 40 degrees if quite dirty. Air dry them ALWAYS. Don't dry them in direct sunlight, though.

If your clothes are wool, try to go as long as possible without washing them or dry-cleaning them.
Obviously, some wools can be washed on the wool cycle on your machine. If you're too scared, dry clean them, but only less than a handful of times a year.

Organize your laundry. When it is time to do laundry, carefully read the tags on your clothes and divide accordingly. Not only lights with lights and darks with darks, but cool dry with cool dry and gentle rinse cycle with gentle rinse cycle items. The more attention you pay, the longer your clothes will stay looking like new!

Use a mesh bag for washing delicates. Put delicates inside it before washing to prevent them from catching on the washer and other garments.

If something shrinks in the wash, keep it damp and stretch. Often times, damp items can be gently stretched back to shape. After gently stretching the damp and shrunken item with your hands, try wearing it while it dries so it reshapes to your body. This is especially useful for fashion emergency situations!

in addition to the points above, always tend to your clothes immediately if you spill something.

in a restaurant, if you get something on a nice shirt or your pants just excuse yourself and treat the affected area with water right away. if you have to work on it a bit with some soap then do that.

i've saved many expensive articles of clothing from tragedy simply by treating them right away.

also, get married to a good woman who knows how to manage high end clothing... key.
