The tie knot came out really well. I'm super happy with it. I'm not sure about the brown shoes. Too light? Also, tie is askew - in a rush this morning.

I really like this outfit. The tie is gorgeous (also very nice length and width) and the knot looks great. The shoes combine well. I would agree that the tie does not really shine onto the shirt, but it's a nice combination nonetheless.

The weather in NYC is about nigh unto perfect - sunny, not too warm, not too cool, low humidity, a perfect day in which to get dressed up. As it is, I've a members' evening to attend at the Morgan Library, my local cultural dispensary - any excuse to get dressed up is a good one on a nice day.

Today's shirt is an experiment - my first usage of a web-based MTO shirtmaker, W H Taylor in the UK, which friends of mine recommended to me. So far, the results are most satisfactory - the sizing of the shirt is accurate, the fabric is nice, and all the detailing that I requested was done correctly. I would be tempted to indulge myself more, save for my already overcrowded shirt rack.

Suit - Ralph Lauren Purple Label
Shirt - W H Taylor
Tie - Charvet
Cufflinks - Deakin & Francis
Braces - Paul Stuart
Pocket square - Robert Talbott
Shoes - Septieme Largeur, Paris

Toying with the idea of getting a charcoal w/ blue pinstripe suit made, with blue buttons to match. Made a quick mspaint doodle of how different shirt + tie combos would look with it (some of which i already own)
tell me which is your favorite if you like

Also, picture this: A chocolate brown pinstripe suit, black velvet waistcoat with satin trim, black boots, and this particular shirt and tie combo.

(swap the tie bar for a tie pin)

I feel like as far as my sensibilities with color and pattern use are concerned I'm more aligned with @upr_crust than anybody else, I like to go for dark patterned suits against saturated colors and stark geometric patterns moreso than the more rustic, earthy palettes and patterns like those of @Encore and @An Acute Style

I've noticed you're one of the only regulars in this thread who regularly wear clip-on suspenders instead of button-tab suspenders or a belt. Not hating, love some clip suspenders, I just gotta wonder why, seems like an odd choice given its mostly dress pants you wear with them (I figure clip suspenders are more on the level of jeans and chinos formality-wise). Also those ones are pretty neat, where do you buy them?

Haven't been in the mood to take many full outfit pictures lately, but here's some recent combos I've put together:

I didn't expect it but this aqua mottled wool tie I have goes really well with my new tweed green sport coat

Another 1960s batwing clip on.

Taking a crack at the purple tonic jacket again, it's probably not unsalvagable.
