SO, I did search and didnt find the info I was looking for.

Who makes the made in Italy sport coats for dunhill?

I just picked up two blue blazers, both have tons of handwork and are full canvass.

The shoulders are a little built up, I think I may have a tailor take that down a bit (is that hard or expensive). Other wise they are wonderful, just curious about the origin.

Thanks.

Post a pic of the label, the older Made in Italy stuff is by Caruso or MA&Co., whoever owns who. You'll notice the same label in Lanvin, RL Black Label. The new made in italy stuff has a cheap looking label and the garment is cheap also.

if it's this label, the consesus is that it's Caruso.

Ed,
Thanks, that is not the label.

Also, the shoulders would indicate it is not Caruso, these are too structured to be Caruso.

Ill snap a pic or two of the labels later today.

I also have no idea how old they are, the interior labels are the same, but one has a signature lining, the other is plain.

I have reason to believe these may be MTM.

Any tips on knowing if it was made by Zegna?

And by that token, what level of Zegna would it be made to?

I would assume the tag would look something like this and usually with Zegna, the higher the fabric quality, the better the make of the garment.

Sorry Zegna. The newer stuff is designed by Richard James and made by Zegna.

are you sure? I've seen recent Dunhill made in Italy that was definitely not made by Zegna and that was quite poorly made, actually worse that the Made In Japan Dunhill.

Well unless the head of MTM Dunhill is a liar I'm sure.

Hmmm, well there was a batch out there of really ****** Dunhill made in Italy suits, emphasis on the first syllable. I can't believe Zegna made those, maybe they were some weird transition pieces or maybe they were super old and just made it to the discount channels.

Yeah, so I am going to have to take some pics.

The label looks nothing like that from a zegna.

Also, the amount of handwork is crazy, the lapels are hand stitched, there are stem holders on the back of the lapel holes, the pick stitching is done by hand, and the button holes are all hand done.

The cashmere one appears to have more details on it, but then I would expect that on a DB blazer.

Well, for $28.00, I am happy, but would love to know who made it.

I'll take a pic of my MTM Dunhill blazer I purchased two years ago and we'll share notes.
