Why did you have a half resole previously and what made you choose a full resole this time ?

The cork on the inside was completely shot and the sole was quite worn down overall. So that's why I did a full resole for this pair.

My other pair from Cheaney's most recent factory shop sale. Not my usual style but worth a punt at the price. I was thinking casual for the summer. Not good with patterned socks. I've so far narrowed it down to navy or black plain socks or my pail ankles.

My new Wilfred semi brogue shoes, adding to the Alfred black cap toes I already have. Very nice looking shoes, good first impression. Last 125 i G fiiting, the perfect brown dress shoe for me.

Thank you, yes my Alfreds are in G fitting as well.

How would you describe the fit of 125 last in G? Wide fitting? I have several pairs on the 125 last in F fitting and I would not call it a 'generous' last (which is good for me since I have rather slender feet although with a high instep). Would you say the 125 G feels generous?

Could you possibly let me know the name of the cobbler who did the resole? Looks like a cracking job.

I have some Imperial line Holyrood monks that will be in need of a resole very soon. Excellent shoe in my opinion, they fit perfectly and polish up brilliantly. I actually prefer them to my Lobb becketts.

Yes they are wide, but I haven't got much to compare with. I think they are more roomy in both the toe section and the instep than, say the Loake Capital last, which is the only comparison I can do.

Thank you for your answer. Roomier than Loake Capital in the toe section and instep can be considered generous indeed.

Thank you for this information @ShooIn . Some interesting models for sure. I have seen most of them at my last visit to the Jermyn St shop but I had totally forgotten about the dark brown suede Kensington. It looks great!

@ShooIn . Some time ago we were discussing the 208 last and how it fits really well. I forgot to mention then, that Vass F last fits (and looks) pretty similar which I thought interesting to know.

Thank you - good to know. I can add the Vass F last to my want list, which is getting longer by the day. How do the two makers compare in other aspects?
